According to the Hull Daily Mail, Prescott will announce his retirement from the House of Commons in June. The paper is tipping the local councillor, Gary Wareing for the seat (which I did last October) although some also believe that Prescott's son might go for it too.

Word is that Darlington and Sedgefield will be holding by elections on the same day.
