So it seems schools are to be given the power to frisk pupils for knives. Who wants to bet that when it become law it will be accompanied by an increase in "that teacher touched me up" accusations. And they wonder why they have a problem recruting teachers?

From what I heard on the radio they will require two teachers of the same sex as the pupil to do this. The commentator (union rep?) said that he expected teachers to only need to do this very rarely but that the legislation was needed so that they knew they would not be prosecuted for assault.
I raraely went to school without a knife. It was the marlin spike for knots and horses hooves natch that was needed ....
