For the second time in six months, and MP has raised concerned about signage in Portcullis House. First it was the Labour MP Mark Lazarowicz, now it is another Labour MP, Graham Allen. He's concerned that there should be "signage on the entrances to the first floor of Portcullis House to indicate the location of rooms in the building."
So whatever is going on? Are scores of epople getting lost? Surely we have a right to know? Having been in portcullis House a few times I'm not sure what the problem is. It's not like the first floor is a maze of corridors, it's a bloody blacony with rooms with big screens saying the name on the outside.

Agree about the big rooms being easy to find, but there are quite a few rooms in the corners on the first floor, which have letters as their names (eg Room N).
Unless you already know which room is in which corner, it can be a pain to find out - especially as those behind the stairs can only be seen if you walk over to them. They don't have big screens outside them.
In fact it sounds like they're hidden enough for you not to have noticed them :-)

There are bloody big interactive screens at the corner of every corridor which list the meetings being planned and also have a floorplan. Granted, the floorplan only coms up when you press the relevant tab on the touch-sensitive screen, but most people seem to have worked it out.
I remember the commotion when people on the Bridge Stree (i.e. Palace) side of the building complained about there being no clocks in the rooms. The answer: a) the annunciator screen gives the time; b) just look out of the window . . .
The building looks interesting from the outside.
