Seemed a bit harsh when I first read it, but now I see it was fair.
Just shows that some teens are dumb, no matter what side of the pond they are from.
Bill Bryson had a brilliant piece on Miss Alabama and on Maria Carey. The latter said, about poverty in Africa: "When I see those kids I want to cry. I'd like to be skinny and all that but not with the flies and dirt and stuff." True intellect.
