Haven't Jockanese crooks won the right to vote? And far be it from me to suggest that an Admiral and Minister of the Crown may be simplifying but isn't it, since the Bliar reform of House of Lords, "peers with a seat in the House", rather than peers generically? Oh, and I don't think the ban is on those sectioned, as far as mental health goes, it is those incapable of making a reasoned judgement (which may explain why Our Hero missed his chance.)
Just encase our newly ennobled friend reads this blog, he may want to look at the (slightly out of date) guide here.
We English flying the flag for St.George won the right first, and the "Jockanese" jumped on the bandwagon.
Dizzy Thinks could earn himself some brownie points here by asking the Minister of Justice, Jack Straw, when does he intend to introduce legislation so that prisoners can exercise this right.
Why would I do that? I don't believe prisoners should ahve the right to vote.
Why not? I believe that all bloggers should have a spell checker...
Because part of prison is about a restrcition on liberty including not voting. Pretty simple. Get sent down, don't vote, you commit a crime you opt out of society. Tough shit in my mind.
As for spell checkers they would ruin my typos and reduce the capacity for those with little to say from being grammar nazis. The Internet just wouldn't be right without people picking up on spelling and punctuation failures.
