Oh what a cynic I have become but when I heard this I just thought "yeah right, he's hiding somewhere, has shaved the beard off, got a new hand, and will jump out all of sudden and point and and laugh at all the hacks reporting his death and shout 'Game for Laugh!'".
I could be wrong though.

I have to say that I used to listen to Jeremb Beadle on LBC when I was a kid, tucked up under the covers on a Sunday night. I thought he was fantastic.
It was only later, when he did all those dreadful TV programmes, that I came to the conclusion that he was a pain in the bum.
I think you might be wrong there, Dizzy ;)
Can't say I enjoyed the man's TV shows, and his on-screen persona bugged the hell out of me. But I met him a couple of years ago at a charity do, and my impression of him changed completely. Far more intelligent, genuine and passionate than you could believe - someone who honestly wanted to do good for those in need.
I never thought I'd say I miss Jeremy Beadle, but I think I do all of a sudden.
You are a cynical devil Mr Dizzy. Beadle was an infuriating influence on TV but so what?
He has died at the relatively young age of 59 from pneumonia (although he had a form of cancer too). He was an interesting character and deserves to be remembered.
'Eee was 'avin' a laugh!
I was expecting the 'Sun' headline this morning to be: 'Beadle's Not About!'...
Jeremy Beadle. Not about anymore.
Had no idea the fellow did so much good work. I have changed my opinion of him, shame it took his death for that to happen. The guy appears to have been a very decent person, and I am sorry he has died so young.
