You have to feel for Yvette Cooper though... Shouldn't Darling have been there instead? But much like his boss, he's getting the habit of not being around when the going gets tough.

I thought it amusing that Osbourne and Cable didn't seem to be saying too much. They didn't really need to, Ms Cooper seemed to be perfectly able to reveal how empty the Government's 'concessions' really are.

She reminds of the management consultant fuckwits I have to deal with from time to time. Totally vacuous, devoid of any imagination and completely unable to answer questions directly without obfuscation and bluster.

'Feel for Yvette Cooper"? you must be joking!

This is the woman who is second in command at the treasury! Gawd 'elp us.

People should take a look at Browns interview on Ch4 Weds evening - quite frightening.

I confess to being an old fogey - clueless about what the reference to 'owned!' is.

I do sincerely believe that, Mr. and Mrs. balls have done far more damage to this country than Hitler ever did.

At least Adolf made us united and determined.

I actually do feel quite angry that someone so utterly clueless is in such an influential position. Bit of a banal statement I know but I've always had a certain amount of sympathy for politicians being interviewed by bullyboy-Paxo but THIS THING, has she ever done a day's work in her life????

Do you think these people ever actually watch themselves on television?

Cath: "has she ever done a day's work in her life????"

No. She went to Oxford, then Harvard, then the LSE, then into politics.

A typical Labour automaton who just regurgitates the line she has been given by the PR "gurus" at Number 10. This is the sort of Minister who could defend anything she was asked to defend; moral principles do not concern the unprincipled.

"I confess to being an old fogey - clueless about what the reference to 'owned!' is."

It's a gaming (PC and console) reference - usually spelt 'pwned!'.. :)

"Do you think these people ever actually watch themselves on television?"

Yes, and I think it's entirely possible that she truly believes she came off well in that interview!

I think you're probably right. How depressing.

I did actually "feel" for Yvette Cooper for a nano-second because she was put up as a stooge by Gordo and his Darling because neither of them wanted a Paxo grilling.

She hadn't got any answers because Mr. Broon only changed his mind about refunding those who'd lost out with the budget tax change the night before. Cooper-Balls didn't have any answers because there had been zero research done on the effects of the changes and on any ways to mitigate the effects of the changes. Why would there have been? Gordo wasn't going to concede anything right up to the last moment.

It was like the non-election, only at the very last minute did Broon face reality and realise that he'd have to bottle it because the omens weren't good. It's Government decision making on the hoof driven by a ditherer who only makes decisions when he's forced to at the last minute.

It actually serves his acolytes right that they have to go on live TV to defend him when they've been shafted by his bumbling, erractic and last-minute decisions.
