So......

Does this mean that it's only dogs that are banned by I can ahem *cough*?

Assuming the lights are off and no one can see me of course?

... and I regret to say it's all too common. In our local park in Glasgow, if you or your dog poos on the road outside, its a £40 fine. However, INSIDE the park, if you don't pick up the dog poo, and presumably your own, you are liable for a fine of £500.
The problem is, some bloody minded dogowners ( "I don't do poo-picking") walk their dogs round the outside of the park, let them crap everywhere, and then take them in the park to run around. Little shits ( or big ones as the case may be)

I like the positioning of the Standpoint advert below your question, which says:

"THINK AGAIN"

Try stopping a dog taking dump when it has made its mind up to do so.

Surely this notice is illegal. The dog fouling laws apply to the Prosecution of Dog owners who fail to clear up afterwards.

So if you take your pot-bellied pig, pygmy goat or shetland pony into the park, it can crap where it pleases with no restriction...?

I agree with anon @ 08.30. I don't intend walking around with a large cork to shove up my dog's arse just because it might decide to have a dropsy on the foot path.

I frequently see signs telling me it is an offence not to pick up my dog's droppings. However, whenever I look around for the waste bins, the council has failed to install them.

If the council expects me to take it back home, it can think again!

Fed up with this Government telling me to do this and not to do that.

Re notice: What has a pile of dofshit got to do with the Engineering Dept? Is this the new crap management we hear so much about?

Yes jailhouse lawyer - the council does it expect you to take it back home or dispose of it properly - it's called social responsibility. If you don't like it - don't get a dog. The sad thing is that it needs signs/bye laws to state the bleeding obvious.

But the sign does not give you the option of removing the dog shit from the footpath to escape a fine. As soon as Fido craps, it's Ker-Ching "that will be fifty quid madam".

Someone from Hammersmith and Fulham should challenge the council of the legality of this sign.

£1000 down here in leafy Mendip. Stickers EVERYWHERE. But do they put up bins to deposit the mess in? Good Lord no. You see, it is Mendip's responsibility to do the stickers, and the local council's the bins.

Nothing to beat joined up thinking. And unlike the cities, dog owners here are very conscientious.

I wish they would do something about horse shit.

In my neck of the woods the verges contain a few solid dog turds and the byeways are covered in stinking squelchy horse crap.
