Dumb Facebook errors

Whilst browsing Facebook this evening and trying to do an "action" I got told (emphasis mine),

Transport error (#1001) while retrieving data from endpoint `ajax/poke.php': A network error occurred. Check that you are connected to the internet.
How this managed to get to my laptop without me being connected to the Internet I have no idea! I blame stupid developers and crappy ESB's, which, ironically, I have had to be dealing with all day!

I think there are general issues with facebook atm, I keep getting 404's as well as the error you mentioned, they could be working to bring on the new version or similar maintanance.

Looks more like a javascript error, so it's perfectly possible that your connection could drop between loading the page and finishing execution of the code on the page.

Errr no it doesn't. It's a Ajax error that indicates there is a problem in the internal network bridge between the webserver and the message bus that registers and handles things like pokes.
