CNN Hologram first....

This is very cool.

Daily Show has taken the piss out of it.

The obvious answer to the question "why?" is because its toys and it's cool! then again I am a nerd.

Is it a proper hologram though? Wolf Blitzer needs to be able to see it otherwise you could pretty much get the effect in a blue room like most other broadcasters, e.g. Sky (albeit with fixed objects)

I didn't know Father Christmas worked for CNN.

I'm with Anon - doesn't look like a 'real' hologram to me.

Did anyone here ever play the Sega coin-ops with hologram characters about 15 yrs ago? Now they really *were* cool.

that's depressed me now. i thought it was a real hologram -- now i'm wondering if Wolf Blitzer was real.

Of course it's not a proper hologram. You'd need a physical medium for that. It's just a bit of chrome trickery.
