Well sort of, in a way, kind of. Tom Watson told the House of Lords Information Committee that the Downing Street e-petition site was an "excellent" example of the Government communicating online, and that "it allows you to gauge the mood of the nation to a certain degree."
Currently the most popular petition simply calls on Gordon brown to "resign" which one assumes Tom acknowledges is helping to gauge the mood of the nation to a certain degree.

Also, the Telegraph hasn't said a peep about Watson...yet, and I refuse to believe, knowing something about him and his family, that he isn't had his fat useless snout in the trough. In fact, I'm surprised he and the Balls haven't been crucified, along with Sion Simon.
Unless of course they have been saving them for the last?
The mood was summed up by one woman on Question Time last night. Mr Brown, "your time is up."
That captures the mood I feel...
On the other commentors point. The Telegraph are not stupid. They have a plan and I'm pretty sure they are saving the best stuff till last. I'd love to see Blair's receipts...

I'm not sure of the value to the petition.
I signed it weeks ago.
Yet he's still there.
The petition site is part of the problems we have in this nation. We look to Government first, not Parliament. Parliament can only begin to be sovereign if we demand it to be and treat it as such.
Perhaps the new Squeaker should set up a petition site for Parliament.
I see the resign petition as a constant reminder of how we all feel. It makes me feel better knowing it is there for another 5 months. It is making a difference by getting people to talk, like it is here.
