How many chairs will that buy?

If you think kitting out the second home with furniture costs a lot, don't forget the House of Commons. Over the past three years, the House has spent £1,852,405 on office furniture. Meanwhile, renovating the Palace of Westminster during the same period has cost £22,359,000.

I bet the chairs are comfy and the wallpaper looks nice though.

They've done the same at Holyrood replacing a lot of the furniture. The paint is hardly dry on the place!

The old stuff must have offended someone's feng shui or somthing?

Actually I've had a hell of a job getting a half-decent chair that you can sit on for any length of time.
