So the news is out. The Speaker will resign this afternoon. Will he be carrying a spade with him on his way out? Word is, he knows where all the bodies are buried. Should Gordon be worried?

Am really annoyed. I was actually starting to admire his bloody-mined refusal to listen to the journalistic masses - there's nothing better than a man who confounds the best predictions of smug press commentators who think they only have to call for a scalp and it falls to them. But, it seems, yet again they're right. Sigh.
If this one is down to the bloggers then there really has been a revolution. The Government and Parliament should be moved away from London as soon as possible, to be paid for by scrapping the Olympics.
That depends on the pay-off.
